The new wave of interest to the Balkan music in world scales has been provoked by launch of the well-known Yugoslavian director of Emir Kusturica. Hasn't avoided its influences and Russia where among the other structures which have addressed to a musical heritage of the Balkans, the Moscow orchestra «Bubamara Brass Band» maestro Alexander Kashtanova is brightly allocated. This orchestra possesses tremendous positive power which, apparently, should be the integral attribute of the Balkan...

Menhirs of Er Grah (Tom Carter) is a folk band named after some prehistoric standing-stones in France. The album was made in 7 days – a day to write and record each of the songs from scratch, and then a day to mix and master them all. Voice and guitar parts were recorded simultaneously into the same mic, and then a second guitar part was recorded as another track on-top. Tom Carter lives in London, and has released a number of lo-fi/electronica albums under the anagram of March Rosetta....

Post Human Era is the work of multi-instrumentalist Daniel Finfer. With the help of brother Michael Finfer, the duo utilize electronic beats, ambient synths, and transcendent lyrics to construct a colorful palette of sounds and textures similar to The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, The Notwist, and Nine Inch Nails. *** Contact: http://www.posthumanera.com http://www.myspace.com/posthumanera

A daydreaming graduate student slips obliquely into a subconscious underworld of shifting identities in Joe Frawley's latest audio release, Ritual Research. Continuing his precedent of genre-defying sound compositions, this new work blends original piano music with found sounds and electronic processing to create protean, quasi-narrative structures. The juxtaposition of recontextualized speech samples with elements of music and sound effects results in an abstract cinema for the ear whereupon...

"City of Buffalo" is the debut album by Minimal States, an electronic music project by Thomas Carter. The music is made of multiple layers of repetitive rhythmic and melodic material, producing a meditative, hypnotic feeling of timelessness and calm. The album is inspired by travel, and its title comes from a place in New York State called Buffalo, whose name is said to have its origin in the French phrase beau fleuve: “beautiful river”. "German version to come right here...

"I've been writing this album for 2 years - from 2007 to august 2009. different ideas of the sound of the type were born in my mind during this time so now it's difficult to say if it helped this album to sound complete or not. Also it's hard to name the style of the album - it could be electronic, IDM or techno mixed with the orchestral instruments (the second part of album is full of monotonous rhythms mixed with melodic pictures of orchestral instruments) it's not so easy to speak about...

‘Sudden Bursts/Normal Breaths’ is a double album of songs and instrumentals, the majority of which grew out of studio improvisations. The tracks on this collection are a selection of recordings from 2008-2011. In comparison with Now’s previous albums, ‘Sudden Bursts/Normal Breaths’ features both more upbeat – at times joyfully silly – and dark, melancholy tunes, which reflect the varied character of their on-stage improvisations. It was made just as a trio with few guest players,...

Personal mythologies, somnambulant improvisations. Joe Frawley, piano and sound collage Credits: I wrote the music, or improvised the music, and played the piano. I also chose the found sounds and did the electronic processing and arrangements. Rachel breathed, spoke and sang. Greg provided certain sounds in the bass register. Some voices are those of narrator "Secrets", who reads for Librivox.org. "Descension Day" features double bass bowed harmonics played by Houston Guy,...

Perry Ferya Band is a marginal project of Skala Collective’s musicians, oriented to a spontaneous psychedelic improvisation with elements of free jazz. “Mantra” was recorded in 2013. It is the next step, the development of the ideas known from two first Perry Ferya Band’s albums – “Back Out” and “Live on Venus”. The band has still based its works on improvisation and intuitional cooperation of the musicians. It experiments with a composition and different kinds of instruments,...
